Highlights of Central Kyrgyzstan

Central Kyrgyzstan is wild and rugged, home to soaring mountains and rolling plains. There are no large towns or cities here, only small settlements and nomadic camps during the summer months. The main attraction is Son-Kul Lake, which offers summer accommodation in yurt camps from June through to the end of September. Those willing to travel further afield will be greatly rewarded with dramatic views at the Kazarman Pass, and by exploring the authentic yurt camps and remote caravanserais of the rugged Naryn region.

Blue Mosque, Naryn
The city of Naryn may not have much to offer in itself, but its location between the capital and the Chinese border, as well as the scenic natural surroundings make this an ideal stopover.
Son-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan’s second largest lake, Son-Kul, is located at a cool 3,000m altitude above sea level, surrounded by sweeping wide-open plains and distantly ringed by snow-topped peaks.
Tash Rabat, Kyrgyzstan
The main reason to visit Tash Rabat is the small but excellently preserved stone caravanserai, which occupies a stunning location perched on the hillside in the Tash Rabat Valley.
